Primary Purpose

This position, working with the Director of Technology & Development will assist in maintaining day to day operations of the company’s software suites, but also help expand the tools that improve the efficiency of employees and teams across the entire company.

 

The ideal candidate who will be a great fit for this position must be a skilled communicator that is ready to join a motivated team in a fast paced environment with a “door is open” policy that has you working with all levels of the company. Responsibilities

 

  • Gather and document requirements from primary stakeholders

 

  • Be able to break down complex problems and explain them in layman’s terms

 

  • Develop and maintain roadmaps for all software projects

 

  • Develop project plans and timelines for all parts of the development process (cradle to grave)

 

  • Actively maintain software and fix bugs while developing new features that adhere to the project roadmap

 

  • Actively maintain and upgrade Linux server environment and libraries: Apache 2 / Nginx, Mysql / MSSQL, Python, PHP, F#, VueJS, websockets, cron, phpmail, etc.

 

  • Support current software: business intelligence, web utilities, desktop tools

 

  • Diagnose problems and present a plan of attack to fix critical issues in a timely fashion

 

  • Work with the VIP Team release process to deploy code from dev, to test, to production environments seamlessly and with minimal outages

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Process-focused, making sure steady progress is made on initiatives

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

The following skills are required:

1. 4+ years of experience with OOP/MVC frameworks

2. 4+ years of experience with Linux/Unix servers

3. 4+ years relational database experience

4. Source code control in an Agile environment

5. Bash and shell scripting and cron

The following skills would be of great benefit:

1. 2+ years in VueJS

2. Experience using websockets
